Louisiana's congressional delegation announced Thursday it wants the Securities and Exchange Commission to release internal information about the investigation of the alleged multibillion-dollar frauds of offshore bank promoter Robert Allen Stanford. "I don't think the people who have been affected by this have a good sense of where this (SEC investigation) is going," said U.S. Rep. Bill Cassidy, R-Baton Rouge. "Right now, the process seems rather opaque." More than 1,000 investors in the Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Covington areas are among those who have lost their retirement savings in the alleged frauds.
